About the Artist:
I have always been creative though it was a challenge to allow myself the freedom to make art for art itself. I started as a potter at the 92nd Street Y. Discovering mixed media several years ago opened a new door for me to express myself. My work is controlled chaos that reflects a concept I want the viewer to think about. It is often inspired by images of beauty, nature, imperfection, and transience of life or Wabi-Sabi. I let the work find its own voice as I attempt to find the exact object, material, photo, line, or color to bring it to life.
About the Piece:
COTTON FIELDS was inspired by the Black Lives Matter movement, powerful images, stories and systemic racism. I could not turn away. I want to stand in solidarity with my beliefs.
