BARRINGTON, CLOD, RUTHY VALDEZ
Barrington is a New York artist of Jamaican descent. Through his work, Barrington wants black people to feel seen and valued, and he often refers to his art as a love letter to his culture. His work highlights black people's history, contributions, and unique features. Barrington's work also references influential black people in current pop culture including music, films, and comics. While he prefers acrylic paint, Barrington also uses oil, fabric, and leather because he believes that any medium and surface can be the vehicle and the canvas.
Claudia Echeverria, known as CLoD, is a Venezuelan-born artist based in New York City. Her work draws inspiration from the Wayuu tribe near the Venezuela-Colombia border, where she grew up. After years as a full-time mother and a career in TV production, CLoD took a solo, year-long journey around the world that led her to pursue painting professionally. Her first juried show awarded her Best in Show, and she has since exhibited widely in Miami and New York, including a solo exhibit at the Coral Springs Museum in Florida. Through her art, CLoD connects with a global audience by capturing shared human emotions and experiences.
Ruthy Valdez is a surrealist artist whose work fuses vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and symbolic storytelling. Rooted in her Dominican and Turkish heritage, she explores identity, memory, and transformation, bridging the real and imagined. A self-taught painter, Ruthy discovered art in her early 20s, learning by studying the masters in New York City’s museums. Her dedication to deconstructing techniques shaped her distinctive style—timeless, personal, and deeply evocative. Drawing from lucid dreams, she brings surreal landscapes, mystical figures, and symbolic narratives to life, inviting viewers into a world where reality bends and the subconscious speaks.
