CALICHO AREVALO
Calicho Arevalo is known for his vibrant paintings, large-scale murals, and digital art animations. He is inspired by New York City, his muse and the city that ignited his artistic journey. The three stripes, a common element in his artwork, are a nod to the Colombian flag and his heritage. Wildlife, and the animals often seen in his pieces, symbolize the connection of humans to the natural world. The dark portals represent the passage of time and space, embodying the resilience we all require to endure hardship and emerge stronger.
About Fulton Center Studios
Creative Spaces, an Art on the Ave initiative, is transforming Fulton Center into a cultural hub where art and community meet.
After a successful exhibition in 2021, Art on the Ave and Westfield are partnering again to add color, joy and inspiration to your daily commute. Westfield is providing space and frontage in the Fulton Center for activation through public art.
Working from Fulton Center Studios, artists-in-residence will produce new work and installations to brighten the rest of the Center.
Take a moment to enjoy it. Speak to the artists and watch the installations grow.
