Fulton Center Studios

Creative Spaces, an Art on the Ave initiative, is transforming Fulton Center into a cultural hub where art and community meet.

After a successful exhibition in 2021, Art on the Ave and Westfield are partnering again to add color, joy and inspiration to your daily commute. Westfield is providing space and frontage in the Fulton Center for activation through public art.

Art on the Ave has transformed one of the units into a shared studio for three talented artists-in-residence.

Working from Fulton Center Studios, they will produce new work and installations to brighten the rest of the Center.

Take a moment to enjoy it. Speak to the artists and watch the installations grow.

Studio Space

This studio space originally functioned as a sandwich shop in Fulton Centre. As it was vacant, Westfield gave Art on the Ave the opportunity to repurpose the unused space into a working art studio.

Following a weekend of refurbishment and uplift, the studio welcomed 3 artists into the space. For a 4 month period, passersby can visit the studio and also enjoy exhibitions located around the station.

The studio concept provides the unique experience of observing the creation of Art.

Current Exhibition

Meet the Artists

For our upcoming exhibitions, Artists from the Soho Renaissance Factory will be our new Artists in residence at Fulton Center!

The Soho Renaissance Factory (SRF) is an artist collective and community outreach organization dedicated to revitalization through socially conscious art, local beautification, and community bonding events.

Konstance Patton

Konstance Patton is an Indigenous American Artist, Muralist, Designer, and Oral Historian based in New York City. Konstance is a member of the Little River Band of Ottawa in Michigan, and carries a long tradition of arts and storytelling in her family. Her work includes street art, set design, fashion, sculpture, animation, and audio.  She uses her work for community healing and beautification. Her Goddezz Projekt celebrates the spirit, beauty, and adornment of women from different countries and cultures. She creates for future generations. Konstance is co-founder of SRF.

Amir Diop

Amir Diop is a young Black Indigenous artist born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City. During the global pandemic, and following the killing of George Floyd, Amir took to the streets of Soho to express his rage of injustice through art. He painted on the plywood boards that covered the windows of retail shops. He met others, who during this time of isolation and frustration, found calm and beauty in creating murals. Amir enjoys painting collaboratively and sharing ideas and stories with other painters and the public. Amir is co-founder of SRF.

Vanessa Kreytak

Vanessa Kreytak is a NYC artist. With a Pratt Institute grad as a mother, art has always been a big part of her family life. Her work portrays strong female subjects with an infusion of natural elements such as water, sun, and space. Vanessa works on canvas using acrylics, but she is just as happy using spray paint to create murals. It was while painting on the streets that Vanessa crossed paths with the SRF collective. Together, they have worked on multiple community murals in NYC with hopes to complete even more in the future.

Sule

Born and raised in New York City, Sule is a painter, designer, illustrator, and muralist. A politically-conscious artist, Sule uses art to express his emotions about societal problems and injustice. Following the BLM uprising in the spring of 2020, Sule joined other artists who were painting on the plywood boards covering Soho storefronts.  These boards became canvases for expression as well “reminders” of strength amidst difficulty. Sule wants his Art to remind people of their strength and help them overcome obstacles. Sule is co-founder of SRF.
