Artist Statement

My goal in creating my 'Bricks Series' is to showcase that there is an abundance of growth, and energy that vibrate from many of New York City’s neighborhoods. Brick-like shapes that transition into thriving florals and leaves, provide beauty and optimism for the future. While the sharp corners in the geometric shapes set against a dark background, may reflect some of the harsher realities living in this urban setting, it is also juxtaposed by the flowing curves and flowers that can bloom out of those structures. A thriving community, of all diverse colors, shapes, and creeds, no matter how big or small, is needed to help nuture growth and transformation.
